The Minister of the Ministry of Interior of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. MP Ali Yusuf Ali (Xoosh), paid an official working visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior of the North Eastern State Government.

Laascaanood, August 3, 2026 — The Minister of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the North Eastern State Government, Hon. Ahmed Ali Yakhle, welcomed at the Ministry’s headquarters the Minister of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. MP Ali Yusuf Ali (Xoosh), who had arrived at the Ministry on an official working visit.

The two ministers held an important meeting during which they discussed strengthening cooperation between the two ministries, accelerating the implementation of development projects in the districts, strengthening local-level state-building, community reconciliation, and finding sustainable solutions for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior, the Director General of the Ministry, the Governor of Sool Region, and the Mayor of Laascaanood, who also serves as Chairman of the Local Council.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation and coordination of plans aimed at improving local government services, peacebuilding, reconciliation, and community development, in order to accelerate the implementation of the matters discussed during the meeting.
