Mogadishu: April 21, 2026 — The Director General of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Northeastern Federal Member State, Mudane Cabdisalaan Iimaan Cali, who is in the capital Mogadishu, spoke about the National Stabilization Forum, providing a detailed briefing on the overall stabilization situation in the regions of the Northeastern State and the plans set for the year 2026.
The Director stated that the Northeastern State government has made strong efforts to advance stabilization policies, noting that state-building and stabilization go hand in hand. He pointed out that cooperation between government institutions, civil society, and international partners has played a key role in the achievements made.
The Director also specifically addressed the 2026 stabilization plans, which focus on districts in the Northeastern State, rebuilding essential services such as:
- Local governance institutions,
- Education,
- Healthcare,
- Water,
- and creating economic opportunities to reduce poverty and promote job creation, as well as strengthening community reconciliation and resolving local conflicts.
Furthermore, the Director emphasized the importance of accelerating stabilization projects so they deliver real benefits to the population. He noted that plans have been developed to ensure infrastructure is utilized efficiently and sustainably.
The Director called on organizations working in humanitarian aid, development, and stabilization to work closely with the Northeastern State government and to engage more directly with local communities. He assured that their needs would be facilitated in order to improve service delivery and implement key projects.
Finally, the Director General stated that by strengthening cooperation and ongoing efforts, it is possible to achieve tangible results and sustainable development that benefits all residents of the Northeastern Federal Member State.
