The Director General of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation of the Northeastern State Government, Mr. Cabdisalaan Iimaan Cali, along with a large delegation he is leading, carried out a work inspection visit to areas within the districts of Yagoori and Caynaba in the Sool region.

The delegation was accompanied by the Governor of the Sool Region, Mr. Cismaaan Xuseen Cabdulle, the Commander of the Sool Regional Police Division, Khadar Maxamed Faarax, and the Chairman of Yagoori District, Iidle Xuseen Xaaji Maxamuud.

The purpose of the visit was to combat illegal new settlements and enclosures being established on grazing lands, which are affecting the livelihoods of pastoralist communities and the land itself.

During their stay in the areas they visited, the delegation inspected locations where unauthorized settlements and enclosures had been established, and also held meetings with local communities to raise awareness about the risks arising from such activities.

The officials clearly stated that the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with security forces, will continue ongoing operations to stop illegal new settlements and enclosures, and that legal action will be taken against anyone involved.

Finally, the delegation called on the community to protect grazing lands, which are a shared public resource, and to avoid any actions that could cause conflict and social problems.
